Lame. I woke up this morning and found out that our California Governor Governator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, just passed a law to ban text messaging while you’re driving effective January 1, 2009. This, of course, is a follow up to the recent law that you can’t drive and talk on the phone at the same time if you’re holding it. (more…)

Yesterday we roll up to the Sunset Marquis in Hollywood for a RiceBoyTV meeting.
It was Craig Reiss, Jason Dienhart, John Naderi, Mike Robleto, and myself. As always, our meetings involve a bit of alcohol consumption. We were there for a while, but then everyone boned out. JD took off first, then Nads did because the Ferg is expecting and due any minute now. Reiss went to the bathroom and never came back. He even left his phone on the table. (more…)

Yesterday morning I get an instant message from my boy, Mike Centola, that him and his wife, Erica Sue, just had their new baby boy. He was actually due in late October (I was betting on November 1 to match my birthday), but because of complications they had to do an emergency C-section. (more…)

Living in Los Angeles, it’s very rare to run into a fellow Clippers fan. Mostly everyone is all about the purple and gold across the hall at Staples Center. But I always manage to find some red, white, and blue Clippers faithful. Off the top of my head, let’s see: Mike Tai, Kelvin Tohar, my entire family, Bryan “Bamm” Cotton, Ted Fox, Frank and Greg, and Chris Serafino. Hmm. That’s not too deep of a list. Oh wait, there is one more Clippers fan that is just as die hard as me, if not more…Clipper Darrell! (more…)

With all the nonsense going on in the world and our lives it’s easy to overlook a moment of history that was as significant as September 11, 2001 (9/11) when the al-Qaeda launched their attacks on the United States and us Americans. To this day, it’s still hard to believe that something that massive and catastrophic happened in our lifetime where nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost in this brutal attack on our soil. (more…)

I’m not sure how it started, but I think Chris Serafino from the Los Angeles Clippers forwarded this Nike Human Race 10k Marathon on August 31, 2008 at the Los Angeles Coliseum e-mail to Roel. Everyone did the “reply all” thing joking about how we should sign up since it is for charity and it ends with a concert from Kanye West. (more…)

I hate going to the doctor. It’s not because I’m scared, it’s because they never know what is wrong. They just guess a bunch of stuff that’s wrong, prescribe different medicines, then tell you to come back in two weeks if you’re not better. Like a couple years back when I got back from the Cayman Islands sick as hell. I went to so many doctors, got x-rays, ultra sounds, and took tons of meds. Did any of that help? No. They just kept speculating if it was a cold, the flu, liver cancer, pneumonia, bronchitis, or whatever. The stupid x rays and ultra sounds took two weeks to schedule and two more weeks for the results. If I were really sick, I’d be dead in that month’s wait. I hurt myself playing Sunday basketball…AGAIN. I landed wrong and it jacked up my foot. (more…)

I have the original version of the Apple iPhone 8GB and as badass of a phone that it is, there are several things that I hate about it. Mainly because of the hype of anything that comes out from Apple, the company can come out with a vastly inferior product (sorry Jamie’s husband, Duncan) than everyone else and yet still be the number one seller and the first name people identify when they see a similar product. Confused? Look at the iPod. Yeah, it’s a pretty cool MP3 player, but there are a ton of other ones out there that are better. But whenever people see an MP3 player, the first name that comes to mind is iPod. Now back to the iPhone. The HTC Touch, LG Dare, Nokia S60, Samsung SGHi900, and so on are really dope phones with more functions than the iPhone, but when people see a touch screen phone, the first question asked is “is that an iPhone?” Gotta give props to Apple for becoming the Kleenex and Coke of phones. I’m sure there are way more people stoked with the iPhone than there are people that aren’t too thrilled with it. I am in the minority…again. Here’s the top 10 reasons why the Apple iPhone pisses me off in no particular order. OK. I lied in the title It’s really 15 reasons and yet, I’m still an idiot for continuing to use it. (more…)
