Just Me Against The World

Whenever Maurice “Moe” Durand, Christine “C Jew” Jew, or Laura “Can’t Say Her Nickname On Here” Arbios hit me us up from Mitsubishi we know it’s going to be a pretty cool job for Medium Monster. This latest snowboarding one seemed dope, but got a little complicated because everyone involved only knew bits and pieces of info for the entire dealio. But Will Roegge and I can usually put those pieces together to make it all work out in the end. This shoot was up at Mountain High (the middle child of all the snow mountains here) and it involved the USASA. No, seriously. That’s what the organization is called. It stands for the United States of America Snowboard Association, which is a non-profit. It’s like the D-League that leads the path to becoming a pro snowboarder or skier. Now that I semi-explained what the organization is all about, let’s get into Mitsubishi’s involvement.

I’ve already stated countless times how much I like the sportback Ralliart Lancer because it has the same 4B11 motor as the Evolution X with an additional hatchback trunk. Almost like a wagon, but a tad bit smaller. Perfect for the active stuff I do like snowboarding, basketball, and skating. Well, the Mitsubishi people felt the same way and donated one of these wonderful machines to the USASA to give away via a nation-wide raffle. The winner of the car was to have it presented to him (or her) at the first USASA competition up at Mountain High. So yeah, convincing Will and I to drag ourselves up to the snowy mountains so we could make the video for it didn’t take too much effort. It’s sad because the little kids competing were doing tricks I wouldn’t even imagine trying. Oh what it was like to be young and invincible. Those days have long since passed.

Just before the competition awards ceremony, Frances Oda from Mitsubishi handed out the keys to the winner, Blake Ramsey. Dude just got the brand new car that I’ve been begging Moe and C Jew for. Sigh. Maybe next time I’ll just enter the raffle. Check out the Medium Monster video.
